About Me

My name is Kinsey, and I completed a Bachelors Degree in Music Composition at Metropolitan State University (MSU) in Denver in 2018. My journey as a musician began in elementary school with piano lessons. In middle school, I traded piano lessons for clarinet and played in concert bands in middle and high school. I was the Drum Major of my high school marching band for 2 years. After high school, my curiosity for writing music brought me to MSU Denver, where I continued to study and play clarinet and piano. I also took technique classes for string, brass, woodwinds, and percussion instruments. I played in the Symphonic Band, Symphonic Orchestra, and a number chamber ensembles. I also organized a clarinet chamber ensemble and arranged the music that we performed. Original works that I composed have been performed by friends and colleagues at MSU Denver. After graduation, I began teaching in-home and virtual lessons. After 4 years of experience teaching in Denver, I moved to the Eagle Valley and am looking forward to bringing my passion for music to the community. I enjoy arranging and writing small pieces for my students to play, and I continue to compose music for competitions. Curiosity and creativity drive me to new experiences, and I’m excited to see where the future takes me.
